Mads Mikkelsen Reveals Why He Prefers To Play 'Losers' Over 'Cute' Roles in Movies

Mads Mikkelsen is opening up about the movie roles he prefers to take and why he passes on ones that he considers too “cute” for him.

While speaking to GQ, the -year-old actor opened up about why he’s just drawn more to the bad guy parts.

Mads told the outlet that “to do something real and also be a cutie pie — I don’t really find it interesting,” while speaking about the roles he tends to take.

He added that he’s “not into the ‘hair falling in your eyes, be cute in a corner.’ Not me. The losers are fun. Because we know them. You might have been in that situation yourself sometimes.”

Mads also spoke about how playing the villain in movies gives him more creative freedom on not just the character, but the movie as a whole.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll definitely do this, because it’s fun,” he says. “And then I can do whatever I want back in Europe.”
