The Weeknd Addresses 'Bumpy' Road to Release Controversial MAX Show 'The Idol'

The Weeknd is looking back on his controversial MAX show The Idol.

Following reports of a toxic work environment on set and not great reviews from critics, the first season of the series concluded with its fifth episode over the weekend.

Now that it’s over and behind him, The Weeknd shared some reflections about the show. In the process, he hinted at whether or not he has any regrets about the project.

Taking to Instagram on Monday (July 3), the hitmaker shared a photo dump complete with photos from the set. He wrote that he was “grateful to share this moment with you all as the season comes to an end.”

The Weeknd also hinted that it was all worth it, writing that he would “continue to push the vision no matter how bumpy the journey.”

It’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time that the hitmaker has addressed complaints of the show. He previously revealed if he was surprised to have haters.

Will The Idol get a second season? There have already been conflicting reports.
