President Joe Biden Acknowledges Son Hunter Biden's 4-Year-Old Daughter For First Time - Read The Statement

Joe Biden has released his first statement on son Hunter Biden‘s 4-year-old daughter for the very first time.

The 46th US President and First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, have released a statement about the family matter, identifying the young girl, named Navy Joan Roberts, is their grandchild.

Hunter and the mother, Lunden Roberts, welcomed Navy in 2019, which is just a short time before he also welcomed his son, Beau, with wife Melissa Cohen.

In the statement, which was posted by People, the Bidens say that “our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward.”

He added, “This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”

In addition to Navy and Beau, the Bidens also have five other grandchildren – granddaughters Maisy, Finnegan, and Naomi (who are Hunter’s daughters), and Natalie and Robert “Hunter” Biden II, who are the children of the late Beau Biden.

A source close to the situation also provided a bit more context.

“You have to remember there were some fairly contentious legal proceedings between Navy’s parents happening until just a few weeks ago. As grandparents, the Bidens are following Hunter’s lead,” they shared. “They are — and have been — giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out.”

There were a few legal disputes between Lunden and Hunter as paternity was established and she did file for Navy to have the Biden last name. While Hunter originally denied he was Navy‘s father, the paternity and a follow up DNA test, confirmed he was.

“Thousands of families have faced similar circumstances, working it out in private, versus the spotlight,” the source added. “At the center is a 4-year-old girl and everyone wants what is best for her, including all of her grandparents.”
