Jimmy Buffett‘s cause of death has been revealed.

On Friday night (September 1), it was confirmed that the musician had died while surrounded by his friends and family. He was 76-years-old.

Now a new report from TMZ is sharing additional details about his passing.

The outlet writes that Jimmy had been diagnosed with skin cancer four years ago, which then progressed to lymphoma.

“He lived his life in the sun, literally and figuratively,” a source told TMZ. They also added that Paul McCartney reportedly visited Jimmy at his home within the last week to sing to him.

Jimmy is survived by wife Jane and kids Savannah, Sarah, and Cameron. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time. RIP.
