Officials Confirm 9 People Died in Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash, Different Than Originally Reported

Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, 13, were two of those killed in a helicopter crash today (January 26) in the Calabasas, California area.

Originally, reports were emerging that there were 5 total passengers on the helicopter and no survivors. Now, during a press conference, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that there were actually nine people aboard the helicopter, including the pilot. All nine have tragically died.

The sheriff’s department did not name the names of any of the victims of this crash at this time, until next of kin is notified.
