Cliff Robinson Dead - Former NBA Star & 'Survivor' Contestant Dies at 53
Former basketball player Cliff Robinson has died at the age of 53.
A cause of death is not known at this time, but his passing was confirmed by his alma matter, the University of Connecticut.
Cliff, who was known as “Uncle Cliffy,” started his career in the NBA in 1989 with the Portland Trail Blazers and he helped the team reach the NBA Finals in 1990 and 1992. He played for the team for eight years and later played for the Suns, Pistons, Warriors, and the Nets before retiring in 2007.
During his career, Cliff played in the All-Star game in 1994 and he was awarded the NBA Defensive Player of the Year prize in 1993.
Following his basketball career, Cliff appeared on the 28th season of Survivor back in 2014. While he tried to keep his identity a secret, one of his fellow contestants recognized him and admitted to having a few of his basketball cards. He finished in 14th place.
