John Harwood Is Leaving CNN - Find Out What He Said

CNN White House correspondent John Harwood is leaving.

The 65-year-old journalist, who joined CNN back in January of 2020, announced that he is stepping away from the cable news channel on Friday (September 2) on social media.

“personal news: today’s my last day at CNN,” he wrote.

“proud of the work, thanks to my colleagues, i’ve been lucky to serve the best in American media – St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, CNN,” he continued.

“look forward to figuring out what’s next.”

“We appreciate John’s work covering the White House, and we wish him all the best,” a CNN spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

There are no further details about what led to the departure.

He previously worked at CNBC as chief Washington correspondent.

The news follows CNN’s cancellation of Reliable Sources, and parting ways with its anchor and CNN chief media correspondent Brian Stelter.
