Lil Wayne Performs 'Kobe Bryant' in Tribute to Late NBA Star at BET Awards 2020 - Watch!

Lil Wayne is honoring the late Kobe Bryant.

The 37-year-old rapper performed a tribute to the late basketball legend during the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28).

For his virtual performance, Lil Wayne performed a rendition of his 2009 track “Kobe Bryant,” where he recognized Kobe’s talents, rapping , “Kobe doin’ work, 2-4 on my shirt/ He the greatest on the court, and I’m the greatest on the verse.”

In the next verse, Lil Wayne gave a special shout-out to Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant and their kids.

“Heart goes out to Vanessa and the whole Black Mamba family,” Lil Wayne rapped.

Kobe and 13-year-old daughter Gianna tragically died during a helicopter crash in Calabasas back on February 7.

Beyonce Urges Fans to 'Dismantle A Racist & Unequal System' During Humanitarian Award Acceptance Speech at BET Awards 2020

Beyonce received a huge honor at the 2020 BET Awards!

The 38-year-old entertainer was the recipient of the Humanitarian Award during the awards show on Sunday afternoon (June 28).

Before her acceptance speech, Beyonce was honored by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who recognized Beyonce’s philanthropy.

“Ever since she was a little girl in Houston, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has been lighting up stages and gracing the world with her talent, with her generosity of spirit, and with her love for her community,” Michelle said. “You can see it in everything she does, from her music that gives voice to Black joy and Black pain, to her activism that demands justice for Black lives. And no matter how big the stages get, I know my girl isn’t satisfied unless she’s sharing all that shine she has with the next generation.”

After tributes from mom Tina Lawson and Tyler Perry, Beyonce dedicated her award to Black Lives Matter, while encouraging fans to get out and vote.

“I want to dedicate this award to all of my brothers out there, all of my sisters out there inspiring me, marching and fighting for change,” Beyonce said. “Your voices are being heard, and you’re proving to our ancestors that their struggles were not in vain. Now we have one more thing we need to do to to walk in our true power, and that is to vote. I’m encouraging you to continue to take action, continue to change and dismantle a racist and unequal system. We have to continue to do this together.”

Earlier in the night, Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy, 8, won her first BET Award!

BET Awards 2020 - Complete Winners List Revealed!

All the winners from the 2020 BET Awards have been announced!

The awards show aired virtually on Sunday (June 28) with host Amanda Seales.

Winners in each of the 21 categories were selected by BET’s Voting Academy, which is made up of fans and an esteemed group of entertainment professionals.

During the show, Beyonce was honored with the Humanitarian award, which she dedicated to the Black Lives Matter.

The BET Awards celebrates creative expression and Black excellence across music, film, television, sports and philanthropy.

Blue Ivy Carter Wins Her First BET Award for 'Brown Skin Girl' Song with Mom Beyonce!

Blue Ivy Carter is a winner!

The 8-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z won her first BET award at the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28).

Blue Ivy took home the BET Her Award for her song “Brown Skin Girl” alongside the 38-year-old entertainer, SAINt JHN and Wizkid. The song was featured on The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack album.

This isn’t the first award Blue Ivy has won for “Brown Skin Girl.” The song also won the the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards and Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration at the 2020 NAACP Image Awards.

Earlier this year, Blue Ivy went viral for this adorable video.

Beyonce to Receive Humanitarian Award at BET Awards 2020!

Beyonce is set to receive a huge honor at the 2020 BET Awards: she’ll be given the Humanitarian Award at the annual show.

The 38-year-old superstar is being honored for her variety of initiatives with her foundation BeyGOOD. In the past few years, Beyonce has established the Formation Scholars to help four women in college, the BeyGood4Burundi initiative, which helps bring clean water to the East African country, and the Homecoming Scholars Award Program, which helped students at eight HBCU colleges and universities. She also helped establish the #IDIDMYPART initiative in her native Houston for COVID-19 testing.

The show is set to air this coming Sunday. In addition, tributes have been announced that include Lil’ Wayne paying tribute to Kobe Bryant and Wayne Brady honoring Little Richard.

BET Awards 2020 Nominations - Full List Released!

The 2020 BET Awards nominations are here!

The show will air on BET and CBS on June 28 (8 p.m.-11 p.m. ET/PT), and this will be a virtual broadcast due to the Coronavirus.

This year, Drake has the most nominations with a grand total of six. Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch both have five nominations each to their names! Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lizzo and DaBaby all have four nominations each.
