'House of The Dragon' Showrunner Confirms More Dragons Are Coming In Season 2!

The stars of House of the Dragon reunited for out for a special screening in Los Angeles this week!

Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Paddy Considine met up with co-stars Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Emily Carey, Eve Best, and Fabien Frankel, as well as showrunner Ryan Condal, and author George R. R. Martin for the event.

While there, Ryan did confirm that the second season of the hit HBO Max series would include new dragons – five, to be exact.

George R. R. Martin Reveals Fate of 'Game of Thrones' Shows Amid HBO MAX Restructuring

George R.R. Martin is getting candid about the fate of the Game of Thrones franchises.

The 74-year-old A Song of Ice and Fire author provided a big update on the status of future Game of Thrones projects amid the current restructuring happening at HBO Max, which has resulted in a lot of programming shakeups recently.

“All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly,” he said in a blog update.

The author, whose books inspired the Game of Thrones series, provided a new update about the upcoming book in the series, The Winds of Winter.

If you didn’t know, the penultimate volume in the series has been in the works since at least 2010. He’s now speaking out about where he’s at with the book in a new livestream.

George R. R. Martin Didn't Meet 'House of The Dragon' Cast Until Comic-Con!

The cast of House of The Dragon gather for one very large group photo at 2022 Comic Con held at San Diego Convention Center over the weekend in San Diego, Calif.

Fabien Frankel, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine, Milly Alcock, Emily Carey, and Ryan J. Condal were joined by author George R.R. Martin for the panel discussion about the upcoming HBO series.

During the panel, it was revealed that George hadn’t met any of the stars of the series until this weekend.

According to Variety, he had been “very careful to keep himself very socially distanced during the COVID-19 pandemic”, so he has been at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico for most of the duration of it.

Emma and Milly, who play young and old versions of Princess Rhaenyra, and Olivia and Emily, who are the younger and older versions of Lady Alicent Hightower, also revealed that they developed the characters separately.

House of The Dragon will debut on Sunday, August 21, and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
