Janelle Monae and Octavia Spencer, two of the stars of Hidden Figures, are speaking out to condemn the homophobic remarks of Kim Burrell, a gospel singer featured on the film’s soundtrack.

Pharell Williams, who collaborated with Kim on a song for the movie, released a statement saying he does not support what Kim said and both ladies regrammed it and added their own comments.

Kim gave a sermon that she aired on Facebook Live in which she called gay people perverted and some believe she suggested that gay people will die in 2017.

The movie Hidden Figures is playing now in limited release and something we keep seeing on social media is a ton of praise for the film from celebs!

Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae, and Octavia Spencer star together as three brilliant African-American women who break gender and race lines while serving as the brains behind John Glenn‘s launch into space.
