Anna Faris, Dave Bautista & Chloe Coleman Wrap Filming on 'My Spy' Sequel in Venice

Anna Faris gets animated as she appears to be singing on a boat while filming for the My Spy sequel on Tuesday (May 2) in Venice, Italy.

The former Mom star is joining the cast of the second movie, which is set to release on Prime Video.

She joins Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman, who reprise their roles, and were also spotted filming that day alongside young actors Billy Barratt and Taeho K. Director Pete Segal was also seen on set, of course.

The next day, Dave shared that they had wrapped filming on the movie, after three months.

“That’s a wrap on @myspymovie #TheEternalCity It doesn’t get more special than this. We are truly family. I love you guys.❤️ #myspytheeternalcity,” he wrote on Instagram.

In the upcoming movie, titled My Spy: The Eternal City, a now teenage Sophie (Coleman) convinces JJ (Bautista) to chaperone her school choir trip to Italy where they both unwittingly end up pawns in an international terrorist plot targeting CIA Chief, David Kim (Ken Jeong) and his son, Collin — who also happens to be Sophie’s best friend.

Also new to the cast for the upcoming sequel are Craig Robinson and Flula Borg. The cast has been filming since February in South Africa, Rome and ending in Venice.

In case you missed it, the trailer for another of Dave‘s upcoming movies, Dune: Part Two, was just released this week. Check it out here!

Dave Bautista's 'My Spy' Movie Is Getting a Sequel - 4 Stars Returning, 3 Exciting Actors Join the Cast!

Amazon Studios has ordered a sequel to the 2020 movie My Spy, which starred Dave Bautista and Chloe Coleman.

The original film follows JJ a hardened CIA operative (Bautista) who has been demoted and finds himself at the mercy of a precocious 9-year-old girl, named Sophie (Coleman) where he has been sent undercover begrudgingly to surveil her family. When Sophie discovers hidden cameras in her apartment, she uses her tech savviness to locate where the surveillance operation is set. In exchange for not blowing JJ’s cover Sophie convinces him to spend time with her and teach her to be a spy. Despite his reluctance JJ finds he is no match for Sophie’s disarming charm and wit.

Four of the main stars of the first movie have been confirmed to return and three actors are joining the cast.

Deadline reports that in the sequel, “a now teenage Sophie convinces JJ to chaperone her school choir trip to Italy where they both unwittingly end up pawns in an international terrorist plot targeting CIA Chief, David Kim and his son, Collin — who also happens to be Sophie’s best friend.”

Dave Bautista's 'My Spy' Pushed Back from March 13 Opening

Dave Bautista‘s upcoming movie My Spy has been pushed back from its March 13 opening date, according to Deadline.

The reason for the date change is indirectly related to Coronavirus. The James Bond movie No Time to Die was going to open on April 10, but it was pushed back to November due to the virus outbreak.

The animated movie Trolls World Tour then was pushed forward one week from April 17 to April 10 to take advantage of the open release date.

Now, My Spy is taking that April 17 date and it is going to have less competition at the box office than it would next weekend.
