The highly anticipated movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is about to hit theaters and something fans will want to know is if a sequel is in the works!

Well, the movie’s creative team is speaking out about plans for more films in the franchise.

Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm and the producer of the movie, told Empire magazine that there will NOT be a sequel to Rogue One.

Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One, says that a “sequel will be directed by George Lucas,” referring to the movie Star Wars: A New Hope. As you probably know, Rogue One is a prequel to the Episode IV.

The upcoming movie is a war film and fans are speculating that not many of the characters, possibly even Felicity Jones‘ Jyn Erso, will survive in the end. We will have to wait until the movie is released on December 16 to find out!

Diego Luna was a major Star Wars fan way before landing the role of Captain Cassian Andor in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

“These characters, this story, I grew up with… It’s like I’ve been preparing my whole life for this,” the 36-year-old actor reveals in the brand new featurette for the film. “It’s a true adventure. I’m here enjoying the ride in a galaxy far, far away.”

Diego kept it cool and casual while stopping by the set of Univision’s morning talk Despierta America to promote Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Tuesday (November 28) in Miami, Fla.

Now that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is only a few weeks way, fans are getting excited to get answers.

One particular theory, posted by Reddit user The_Playboy, is making the rounds.

This person proposes that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is actually royalty.

“The royalties played always large part in the Star Wars universe,” he/she writes. “In the prequel era there were thousands of star systems with monarchic government. Before the Galactic Empire, many planets (for example Naboo, Mandalor, Lasan) were ruled by royal families.”

The user continues, “I think Rey is from a royal family, from a planet unknown to the audience. The First Order invaded Rey’s homeworld, and wiped them out. Maybe a group of loyal guards escaped with the young Rey, and left her on Jakku for her own safety.”

Of course, this is all conjecture. A lot of fans believe the Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) character in Rogue One will turn out to be Rey’s mother.

Advance tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are finally about to go on sale, just a couple weeks before the highly anticipated movie is set to hit theaters!

Fans will be able to get their hands on tickets starting on Monday (November 28), two and a half weeks before the movie’s December 16 release date.

Last year, Disney and Lucasfilm put tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens on sale in mid-October for a release in mid-December.

Pre-sales for The Force Awakens brought in over $100 million in ticket sales in 2015. Because the pre-sale window is much shorter this time, it’s not fair to compare the two films.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which stars Oscar nominee Felicity Jones, is expected to top the box office in its first weekend with a $130 million debut, according to early predictions.

Felicity Jones is front and center as Jyn Erso on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s new issue celebrating the upcoming release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Gareth Edwards, the director of the new movie, opened up to the mag about why it was such a joy to helm the film.

“Even though there’s a lot of pressure on this movie, it’s really impossible to feel it because it reminds you so much of when you grew up and when you felt most comfortable,” Gareth said. “It’s hard to get intimidated when you can constantly look left and see a Stormtrooper or look right and see an X-Wing. It just feels like you’re at home again.”
