Nina Dobrev's 'Vampire Diaries' Return Teased at TCA 2017

Will Nina Dobrev be making an appearance in the series finale of The Vampire Diaries?

That was the big question during The CW’s panel at 2017 Winter TCA Press Tour this weekend.

Network president Mark Pedowitz didn’t officially confirm anything, but he did tease fans with a little tidbit.

“The best way I can answer that question is Julie [Plec], Kevin [Williamson], the studio and the CW promise a fantastic series finale,” he said.

Julie recently revealed that Nina made a promise to her about returning for the final episode.

The Vampire Diaries comes back on Friday, February 10 @ 8/7c on The CW.

It was recently announced that the eighth season of The Vampire Diaries would be the show’s last.

The final season of The Vampire Diaries is set to premiere on October 21.

Nina Dobrev Could Be Returning to 'Vampire Diaries' for Final Season!

Nina Dobrev could very well make an appearance on the final season of The Vampire Diaries!

The cast and showrunner Julie Plec sat down for an interview during 2016 Comic-Con, where they were asked what the odds were of Nina’s return.

“Not to put too much pressure on anything Nina Dobrev..but a promise was made. An emotional promise that I’d like to see come to life. You heard it here…there’s been friendship promises made, and now we’ll see if we can deliver on them,” Julie said. Watch below!

'The Vampire Diaries' to End After 8 Seasons

The Vampire Diaries is set to end after 8 seasons, the network has announced.

“The sun, the moon and stars aligned for me one day in March when I got the official call that I had been cast in this very special role as Damon Salvatore,” star Ian Somerhalder said in a statement. “I’m so very grateful to those who fought for me to have this opportunity (you know who you are), for those that have worked so hard to make this show happen, and to those that have loyally watched it, making it part of their lives. This show has enriched my life greater than anything I’ve done in my career and it will live in my heart. We are a family and I will miss you. Thank you again to this amazing cast and crew, Kevin, Julie, Warner Bros., The CW and the most loyal fan base the world has ever seen. Wow, what a ride.”

“Being cast in THE VAMPIRE DIARIES has changed the trajectory of my life, to say the very least,” star Paul Wesley added. “I’m beyond fortunate for the experiences I’ve had and lessons I’ve learned over the last seven years. I want to thank Kevin and Julie, as well as Peter Roth and Warner Bros., Mark Pedowitz and The CW, our incredible cast and crew, and especially the TVD fans all around the world who are the reason this show became such a worldwide success. I am beyond grateful to have been a part of it.”

The final 16 episodes will begin on Friday, October 21 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT). Watch the farewell video below.

Paul Wesley looks hot with some facial scruff while stepping out at the 2016 CW Network Upfront held at The London Hotel on Thursday (May 19) in New York City.

The 33-year-old actor was joined on the carpet by his co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Candice King.

We had the chance to chat with Candice about Stefan and Caroline, and she was really happy to see them reconnect and kiss in the finale episode!

Ian Somerhalder Confirms 'Vampire Diaries' Will End After Season Eight

It sounds like The Vampire Diaries officially has an end date in mind.

Star Ian Somerhalder confirmed to the crowd at 2016 WalkerStalkerCon on Sunday (April 10) in Nashville that the upcoming eighth season will be the last.

“We have decided to do one last season to really do the story justice,” Ian said (via @WalkrStalkrCon).

This comes after his co-star Kat Graham confirmed that season eight would be her last.

UPDATE: The CW tells JustJared.com that “no decision has been made” regarding the future of the series.

Kat Graham Will Exit 'Vampire Diaries' Following Eighth Season

Kat Graham has announced that season eight of The Vampire Diaries will be her last.

The 26-year-old actress told Us Weekly at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (April 5) that she will be leaving the show.

“I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me,” Kat said. “If the crew can come with me, then we’ll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family.”

She added, “You know what, another season is a whole other year, and we’re going to blow it out.”

Kat has played witch Bonnie Bennett on the series since its first episode in 2009.
