Kate Bosworth: Earrings for Charity!

Kate Bosworth and JustJared.com‘s Jared Eng are teaming up to raise money for DoSomething.org, an organization that enables teens to convert their ideas and energy into positive action.

The 28-year-old actress and stylist Cher Coulter have a jewelry collection named JewelMint and recently kicked off the brand’s new charity initiative – the JewelMint Celebrity Guest Curator Series.

Now through June 15, 50% of sales generated from the JewelMint “Brixton” earrings – available for $29.99 (that includes shipping and tax) – will be donated to DoSomething.

Check out the black resin spike earrings at JewelMint.com. Thanks Kate and Cher for supporting DoSomething!

@Kary: Better help the needy by directly donating, instead of falling for the “percentage of sales will be donated” sales pitch.

So everybody yaps about how KB doesn’t do charity work, and just blew off a children’s charity even to show her t*ts in Mexico and suddenly this shows up? Right! Good to know she’s paying JJ to try to keep her relevant. Guess we know why JJ was sucking up to Skarsgard at Coachella.

OMFG..this really does make since now. No wonder that no career bald headed c*nt is always featured. Wow, so if I “donate” to your site/charities Jared, does that mean you will feature me to?? LOL..Perez Hilton is lame but at least he keeps it real and doesn’t post what people pay him too. Your not any kind of journalist. You are a puppet and the lame ass celebs you feature aka pay to be on the site our your puppet masters.

:D I’m reading the comments… I wasn’t the first to think “this explains a lot” haha

Good for Kate and Jared for raising awareness for a great cause!

I’m sorry Jared, but JewelMint is way over priced jewelry. You can find much better jewelry if you shop around for much less. Jewelry that is more creative, better made and by designers. TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Loehmanns and eBay all carry stuff that out does their collection in terms of creativity, pricing and originality. If I want to give money I’ll donate directly instead of supporting these two women who sell overblown priced pieces.

    Simi Says:

I don’t understand all these haterade comments.

    1) Of course a website is going to post more about people they have relationships with, this happens at EVERY high profile website that exists. It happens across every business that exists too. Business is always is based on the relationships people have.

    2) It’s an amazing cause! I am all for any organization trying to make positive changes.

I think it’s cool of BOTH Jared and Kate to lend their celebrity to a good cause.

    Jessie Says:

Why does everything Kate Bosworth say sound rehearsed. She looks like a weirdo with her constant gesticulation, like she’s trying to hard to think about things. Nothing she says sounds like it comes easy to her, she has to think about everything. Cher sounds more natural than she does.

    sarajaye Says:

Beautiful picture – and it is refreshing to see Kate and Jared take the time to “do something” for others. If the haters could also see the value of charity work and find an organization that made them feel good, they’d hate a lot less I’m sure. Good job Kate & Jared.

    Denise Valdez Says:

I love this, i love you, and i love kate…I am going to quote you…
“Fashion is an extension of who you are, anything that brings out you personality and makes you feel more confident is something to go for”

    I love it!!!!!!!!!

    Ladybug Says:

@Simi: It is a good cause. And the charity itself seems to be a well-respected and well-run charity (at least according to the charity evaluators).
It’s the timing and motivation of KB that is raising suspicions.

    jillyro Says:

So disapointed in JJ, this is such a VERY clear indication that JJ is on the payola with many celeb’s PR people (at least the Z-listers like Kate and Rachel Bilson). SO DISAPOINTING, JJ no longer my favorite blog as how can he be biased when reporting now?? DISAPOINTING!!!

    Sarah Says:

    You’re adorable, Jared.

  18. 43
    Tanter Says:

Soooo.. if Alex is ever bothered by the paparzzi again and wonders why they keep following him; just look here. Your girl friend is working together with a blogger who consistantly uses pics taken by the paparazzi. I wonder how that works, huh.

Anyway, I guess it’s a good thing that she’s finally supporting a good cause – ish. It would be better if she donated and asked people to do the same non? Kudos to Jared though – he doesn’t need to and does.

  19. 44
    Tanter Says:

You also look a lot better than Kate Jared! :D

  20. 45
    Lilla Says:

So, she can’t bother to show up at a charity for FOSTER CHILDREN, but she wants people to buy her crap. Yeah, I’ll get right on that.

  21. 46
    Justin Campbell Says:

This is such a good cause. Its disheartening to see that people can’t differentiate their personal feelings for a celebrity and blog post that has nothing but the best intentions at heart.
Don’t tarnish the integrity of an important charity with such hatred.

  22. 47
    Camille Says:

    @Ladybug:

Or people could you know, just donate right to the charity itself and not bother to support the crap product that is Jewelmint. I’d rather do that and in fact, think I will. I usually do donate right to the charities themselves because I think, why bother to give someone else 50% of the profit when you can give 100% of it to the charity directly? This though is at least better than the measly offering of 10% to Japan. That was just asinine.

  23. 48
    Jennifer Says:

    @Lilla:

Exactly, she’s trying to make up for that snafu. Nice that it’s a children’s charity, seeing as she stiffed that one to burn her bits south of the border. If she cared, she would have done both.

  24. 49
    Rocky Says:

Well look at YOU Mr. Jared. Love the picture. Thanks for bringing that here so we ALL could see.

  25. 50
    Emma Says:

When asked what charity she would support and she said “i like to be support an organisation that….”..long pause… I swear I thought she was going to say “early onset baldness”… hah! I’ve been lurking here too long…
