Demi Lovato: 'Skyscraper' Video Premiere!

The video for Demi Lovato‘s new single “Skyscraper” is here!

The 18-year-old singer recently opened up to E! Online about what the video represents for her.

“There were so many things that represented my addictions and eating disorders and self-harm. When I’m unraveling this black fabric…It was the toxicity took over my mind for so long, that oozed out of every pore that I had because I was suffering inside…I’m taking it off and walking on broken glass and powering through it,” Demi said.

I cannot begin to describe how nice it is, amidst all the emotionless songs that do well in the industry by attaching them to a sexualised image and fancy auto tune technology, that Demi did a song like this, raw real vocals that are full of emotion paired with a simple yet subtle video, I like the concept of the glass heart representing a fragility and the black fabric representing letting go of bad habits. Some artists would ruin the message with an over exaggerated video but this video matches perfectly with the song and just makes it that bit more personal and allows the song itself to do the real work.

I cried when I watched this. It’s so honest, beautiful and powerful. You see and feel every emotion that she’s feeling. This song and video really means the world to me. It makes me feel hopeful about the future and that there actually is a light at the end of the tunnel. If Demi can get well so can I. Thank you for the strenght <3

She is so talented. Weird/sad how the most talented people rarely make it big or even get radio play compared to their less talented, more generic and autotuned peers.

OMG I almost cried! love the video
It’s just perfect for the song

WOW! AMAZING! I cried the 1st time I heard the song. She’s such an amazing singer and songwriter. The only talented kid that came out of Disney factory. She’s a true talent!

aw she is back. <33

Boring video but she looks pretty and sings powerfull with a lot of pure emotion. I love her phrasing.

I love it!! it’s honest..u can see it in her eyes!

don’t cry :(

I forgot how beautiful Demi Lovato’s voice is. This song is so touching and I love the video. It’s rare that a female artist is fully clothed, not gyrating, and not singing about something sexual.

Very touching and nice song. I like it alot. It’s very grown up sound for her.

Great job Demi!

her voice is gorgeous but the vid is sooo boring

She is such a great role model and i am so glad that she is back and happy. I support her all the way!

Why is she not talking about her bipolar disorder? She admitted she had it and now she’s hiding it. I wish people would be more vocal about having mental illness, it is nothing to be ashamed of.

I like this style of Demi better compared to her other stuff.
