Oscar buzz. Good to hear. I hope that its true.
Can’t wait to see Young Adult!

  • Rob

@catchy: Gary Oldman is a great actor but that’s personally bias. He might get a nomination (and will hopefully win over Clooney and whoever else), but up until now he hasn’t deserved one.

  • catchy

@Rob: deserved at least 3 for the past works, and deserves one for TTSS.
if Gary Oldman hasn’t deserved one, THEN NO ONE HAS.

  • Rob

@catchy: No he hasn’t deserved an Oscar imo. Just because he is obviously your favorite doesn’t mean that every other actor winning an Oscar is irreverent. What has he done that would put him equal to Daniel Day-Lewis, or prime De Niro, Pacino etc.? Nothing. Exactly.

  • Helen

I’m 100% with u catchy about Gary oldman, he is one of the best actors .. Charlieze never smile

    ABout Charlize oscar buzz….
she deserves the nominations and the prizes:)

  • Jonmoontrip

Her best film – is the dreamy one with Penelope Cruz? I believe it was her… Very deep part. There is a scene at the end that is timeless. The name eludes me now- but in that film? A great actress. Just a thought…

@Rob: Brad Pitt has described Oldman as his foremost acting “god”, while Daniel Radcliffe has cited Oldman as the actor whose career he would most like to emulate. Tom Hardy has named Oldman as his “hero”; Ryan Gosling has also named Oldman as his favourite actor. Other actors who have been influenced by Oldman include: Shia LaBeouf, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Foster, Johnny Depp, Chris Pine, and Jason Isaacs. Anthony Hopkins, has described Oldman as “multi-talented”, and as possessing “a great genius and flair for creativity”, while Colin Firth described him as “a candidate for the title of ‘greatest living actor’. Oldman has garnered critical acclaim for his diverse performances and portrayals of real-life historical figures and is noted for his avoidance of the Hollywood celebrity scene, often being referred to as an “actor’s actor”.Oldman’s performances have gained the admiration of prominent film critics: Roger Ebert has hailed him as “one of the great actors, able to play high, low, crass, noble”. He also said of Oldman, “like a few gifted actors, he is able to re-invent himself for every role”. Ebert’s co-presenter on film review television show, At the Movies, Gene Siskel, described him as a “wonderful” actor. Janet Maslin of The New York Times has described him a “phenomenal” actor who “since Sid and Nancy has taken on a string of new accents and dramatic identities with stunning ease.”

and after that you say he hasn’t deserved even a nomination?

Get that Oscar nomination, Charlize. No one combines talent and beauty better than this lady. I love how she’s not afraid to take risks and play unlikeable characters. She’s not trying to be America’s Sweetheart to boost her movie star profile. She’s a real actress who just happens to be a classic beauty.

And she has the best candid style in hollywood. Love the coat and shades!

  • Purple Poet

@Rob: He deserved one when he played Sid Vicious. Have you seen that? That’s one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Other than that, he’s been a great actor in a lot of bad movies. Now he’s probably in a good movie and has a chance.

  • Dieter

I wanna lick her asshole while she smokes a Marlboro Lights !!!!

  • Dieter

    pooper of her’s !!!!

  • Jonmoontrip

Of course… What was the name of that film … With Penelope Cruz? THAT was an artistic bit.. I like what I saw in that. Charlize was great in that film. I guess they have her in mind already for Oscar.. I will check this “Young Adult” deal.

It’s called ” Head in the clouds” very emotional movie i remember crying alot, she is defintely one of the most versatile actress of this generation, she is always challenging herself and taking risks, always surprising that’s what i love about Charlize that’s what makes her to me different from the rest of the hollywood actresses, She deserves another nomination for Young Adult!
