The Hobbit and Batman are still going to be better movies…WHY is everyone in the USA obsessed with the Box Office?! We – the audience, shouldn’t care about it…

# 6

Dark Knight should be better, there is a deeper story to it. IMO this was contrived and just done for laughs and mega special effects, nothing new tho, just cost a fortune. The star power and getting all the heroes in one movie was prob the big $$$ draw.

Loved The Avengers, it’s a well-deserved box-office. I don’t know why people insist in comparing it to The Dark Night – there is clearly space enough for both movies. I’m a fan of both. I just really hope Battlesh*t flops next weekend because THAT is the kind of thing we do not need in movie theaters.

Kiki, I’ve already seen Battleship overseas a few weeks ago. This movie is awful. But let’s hope it’s not a huge flop – for Taylor Kitsch’s sake! LOL. I’m sure it will not be number 1 when it opens in the U.S.
Anyway, I enjoyed Avengers a lot so I’m really happy about their success!

This is a great movie. I encourage anyone to go see it.

Congrats Avengers for a second week box office success. Battleship is under the gun now; it cost $200 million to make. If it doesn’t make back $100 million and beat the Avengers, the headlines will read ” ‘The Avengers’ just sunk Universal’s ‘Battleship’ “.

Damn think like man is still in the top 5 and i agree w/ the rest i hope Battleship blows.

You know I’ve always wondered with these films & their record breaking box offices (seems almost every film these days breaks some record!) do they take into account inflation? The increased prices of tickets now or is solely on number of tickets sold?

Back like 10 yrs ago (or further) you could buy tickets in UK for £3, now it’s £10+, so they make more money off 1 person buying 1 ticket than they did before. Are these records more people buying more tickets or is it just less people buying more expensive tickets?

Really not meaing this as a diss of any kind, not seen the film, only heard good things about it, genuinely just interested as to how they rate box office, is it purely money from tickets, or number of tickets?

Great movie – well deserved. Great performances from everybody! Witty, silly, smart and touching. Go see!

I hate that crap called Avengers..what is the big deal about that ****? I wont see it ,is the same that X-men..SO BORING!

bush cheney war

just ignore those three words above.

how does 10 % unemployment translate

into being the cause of a 16 trillion dollar debt?

it doesn’t. its only a small piece of the missing tax revenue.

bush foolishly gave tax breaks while at the same time going into an EXPENSIVE WAR. dumb!

Yes they do. You can even view the inflated earnings online for many many old films.

sorry my cat was sitting on the computer
