This series of photos really are easy on the eye but are haunting as well… That said, I am myself, strange.

Reaps deep meaning from quiet moments. Feels the strain. Fill the void. Remains understated. There are no histrionics. Immense burdens lifted. Layer on what you need. Remarkably universal. Soul music wafts. Intimate scenes of extraordinary life. Close the window. You’re pressuring me. Heart for the matter. Half of me. Can’t stand injustice, abuse, unfairness. You gamble with what you have with you. The difference between appeasement and surrender are a matter of time. Where does your heart lie? No one comes away from the streets clean. If you make the world better in one way, it will become better in every way.

@DocP: Of course. They want a trophy wife, preferably not too intelligent. Could never be like that as I too prefer love to money.

Like the jacket, love the smile. Good on him!

    @#50 emmmmm
That is said because (I think) they are addressing how amazing he looks. My soul tells me he will be single for a spell before he commits himself like he just did again. And that is just fine. Could be wrong, am more than right these days, but maybe he needs to give himself a good talking to? Sort it all out, reflect, heal, mend from within? Like he said about his NYE resolutions to rebuild his spiritual base from the ground up? Look at his own treasure, him.
    -
What’s great is the news he’s going to be with family and true friends, wherever that is, because it’s a good indication he’s using that welding tool to mend fractures in his roof of unconditional love. That bit of ‘news’ alone is worth every serene photo we’ve waited a while for. I’ll say he delivered!

@DocP: I think like anything in life it runs the gammut – some men know exactly what they are doing, picking up arm candy, trophy wife, the perfect hostess for all their social events or the perfect political wife see JFK and Jackie O.

Some men may be under the delusion the woman loves him for him, some women are really really good at this game, men are relatively simple and they get hurt. But then they are smarter when they pick up the next woman.

Some couples know the score and actually do fall in love and those are probably the marriages that last longer.

Otherwise the first kind of man is incline to trade in for younger models like they do cars. So the first wives know they have to get a generous prenup, no prenup that would be extraordinarly rare or lucky or clever on her part, or as many children as possible before he gets bored.

Men and women have been playing this dance since mankind started living in semi permanent structures only the families were the ones wheeling and deaing and it still goes on in cultures today. In poorer cultures it makes more sense you want your daughter to have a chance to survive never mind a happy life.

  • TGIF

@emmmmm: One wonders if someone new is putting that smile back on his face. If so good on him. Well could be a lot of new someones but whatever works.

  • fashionista

why doesn’t JJ have the name of the designer on that leather jacket but have we not seen it before, leather jackets with that kind of finish are rare, like a very lightweight jacket

“In poorer cultures it makes more sense you want your daughter to have a chance to survive never mind a happy life.”
    -
Interesting you say this, there is an independent film out today about an Israeli mother who wants to keep her grandson in the country, whose daughter dies in childbirth, so she wants her other daughter to marry the man whom she does not love and puts her under extreme pressure in the process. And children often wish to please their parents, esp Jewish kids. All this said to back up your sentiments that parents can have motivations of their own.
    -
But for the most part men marry for love or that they do not want to lose the woman they love. And most men do not let a woman of potential walk.
    -
What holds people or couples together?
What breaks them apart? Big stuff? Little stuff?

Maybe his suits, as in law suits, are coming along swimmingly? Maybe he’s getting a handle on his back pain management?
Maybe he’s feeling freer, inwardly strong and more pulled in the right direction now, forward?
I have a good idea what his language of love is so that could be being spoken to him as well, somehow by someone but feel it is more family ties, good rest, peace of mind, secure again more than any one person. Hard to explain.

@TGIF: My Moms lawyer had been cheating on his wife for years so one day I guess the wife decided to cheat also . They had 2 young boys and they were finally in school and she had free time on her hands. Well to make a long story short she fell in love with the guy she cheated with and asked for a divorce. He begged her to not leave him and he would do anything to keep her. She said No she loved the other guy and she didn’t love him anymore. To me that’s what cheating in a relationship does at least for a woman, it kills the love that was once there.

@TGIF: “In poorer cultures it makes more sense you want your daughter to have a chance to survive never mind a happy life.”
But there are also a lot of women who choose life like this because it’s simply. They don’t have to study, work etc., just be beautiful. That’s all. Women are not less egoistical as men.

  • GFW

Do you think he’s pointing to a familiar camera taker? Someone who is there repeatedly? Could be! LOL

Great interview. Love he keeps bringing up the mighty Law Abiding Citizen while revealing how hard that first day of work on the set was.
    -
I felt, at the time, he was under immense pressures filming and producing alongside each other. I have no idea how he did it. This is why I have a lot of respect for him, regardless of anything that takes place otherwise. Long nights, long days, restlessness, worry, decisions. The intensity of the crazy character he played so well (I think). What kind of bugs me is they didn’t do their homework.

Okay, just moused Gerry and ain’t no way in hell that’s a jacket from Sears! It’s Japanese I’m guessin’ and from that store we saw him in photographed with the man in the pink shirt and black-rimmed glasses.

@DocP: @nr007: Such great posts from you both. doc, you said a mouth full. ” it kills the love that was once there.” There is no out for cheating. Men and women can forgive almost anything in a relationship, but not that. When trust is gone, imo it can not be retrived. Certainly you can try, but then it is no longer love, but turns into something else like convenience or necessity.
Amazingly enough the double standard is alive and well. But there is the “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander” that never works in a relationship pertaining to cheating. I would think that is why marriage counselors are needed. Of course this is all my opinion.
Think it is interesting that the Bible does not agree with divorce only in the case of sexual immorality.

It kills the trust. Once that’s gone, it’s over love or not.

  • TGIF

@nr007: It is a short sighted view because husbands die, get killed, lose their wealth, or leave you. There are still a lot of women who truly only want to have children and be housewives and are not after rich husbands just ones that will be a good fathers but with the educational opportunities young women have now they need to always have something to fall back on in an increasingly competitive and cruel world which is only going to tougher as time passes.

For the women who prefer to advance via rich men, if you are lucky you can grab a series of men and build up your wealth like that but you can just as easy find yourself without your looks and no money and a bunch of kids wondering what happens now. But the tough do find ways to survive. Even former rich people.

  • Joy

@C.A.: I’d still like to know the story behind it, what happened. Gerry’s seems to be a little less talk and more action, just color him gone, kind of guy.

I’m sure the “get the look” is just for us commoners to get the look on our budgets. We’d probably faint at what he really paid. Most likely custom made for him with his name inside.
