    Don, Nurse Anesthestist, Ga Says:

Looking my best, at all times, is an innate genetic trait as is being gay. I am naturally handsome, so I like to take advantage of my fortunate good looks by using top quality hair products, moisturizers as No.7 / Elizabeth Arden in the a.m. and at bedtime, going to my hair stylist weekly, keeping my beard well trimmed/groomed. I never, ever wash my face with soap and water; ages facial skin. Maintaining a good mani-pedi, white teeth and selecting a cologne/perfume, not based on price, but how it’s fragrance potentiates my other qualities. I find that Chanel Bleu, Prada Homme and, in the summertime, Calvin Klein’s Summer best fragrances. I have one other beauty secret that I have been using for the past 14 years and I wear it every time I step outside my front door. Apply it “cul nu”. It is an haute hydratant product and if you want to attract someone’s attention; this will do the trick. My secret is Banana Republic’s Unisex Body Lotion. You can not buy this on the website, eBay….. It is only sold in the B.R. stores and when Banana Republic has a sale, I go to every B.R. in the city and buy every bottle in stock. I adorn my hard efforts with a closet of quality clothes. I like to build a wardrobe of colors, fabrics and styles that accentuate my looks, skin color and my personal preferences. I tend to go to soft colors. Pastels and light colors look much better on my body than darker colors, with the exception, obviously, of a dark suit or a black tux. If you don’t look attractive in a black suit or black tux, you have major problems to work out. When choosing your suits, find a designer whose style, design / cut, and material is a not only attractive on your body, but is comfortable like your best friend. Why buy an Armani, if it does not look natural and attractive on you; if it is possible for Armani not to look good. All of my suits, blazers, and slacks are by Polo Ralph Lauren, Red Label and Purple Label. The cut looks natural on my body, is a comfortable fit and is always handsome accent for me. Diet, exercise, sleep and a healthy sex life add value to a gay man’s looks. I do not make these efforts to look good to attract a man, but I do them, religiously, for myself. I love looking better than my best; just as I love being a gay man. The two being genetically linked, I believe. I am not advocating that one should wear a suit 24/7; that would be tedious. A gay man going out on Saturday morning for a cup of coffee or to the market is a sexy sight in a well-chosen pair of jeans, sweatshirt / t-shirt and a pair of sandals/slippers/tennis shoes. A man in a pair of sandals with well manicured feet can be a hot and sexy look. As I said earlier, I do this for myself, but the world is full of gorgeous gay men. I definitely like to look be noticed by them. I enjoy a nice looking date, an occasional overnighter or a potential “long time” relationship. I do not care if they have the body and looks of Chris Pine or Channing Tatum, but if they have the looks and the body, then they wrap it in wadded up, off color, cheap, last year’s, wrapping paper; the odds are that the wrapping may be all that gets noticed. Chefs say, “People eat with their eyes first.” Gay men have a list of “Do Nots” that help us look good to others and for ourselves. Do not go out for the evening or on a date and get inebriated or even close; it is always a unattractive look. Do not go to someone’s home smelling of cigarette smoke; even Chanel nor Prada can help you out of that situation and, by all means, make sure your breath smells fresh when going on a date. It can be hard to concentrate, at times, on the conversation when your every breath smell like garlic / canned cat food. If you know you have had something that makes your breath obnoxious, always correct the problem for ring your date’s doorbell. When in his driveway, rinse out of your mouth/gargle with a bottle of mint mouthwash. Sometimes, you may not realize that you have bad breath, so if your date offers you a mint, by all means, take one or two; your man is, politely, offering you a hint. These are the reasons that gay men always look our best and some of the ways that we achieve it. It is an innate trait for gay men and we take full advantage of it. Many married women of my male married friends tell me, “I wish that you were straight; I would much rather be married to you. You always looks so well groomed and attractive”. “How do you find such good looking men to date.”? Married men tell me if they were gay, they would chase me. “Good luck. The waiting line forms to the rear.” I have nothing against hetero’s, but I would not trade being a gay man for all the Allen Edmonds / Bunnhabhain 12 year old single malt and the Graff / Cartier / Chopard in the world. Being gay is much more than a sexual thing; it is an entire life experience. Being gay is not a choice, but how we live and enjoy it, is a choice. Make the most of it.
