Blake Lively Lands 'Age of Adaline' Role Opposite Ellen Burstyn

Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn are set to star alongside each other in the upcoming romantic drama The Age of Adaline, according to Deadline.

The film “follows the miraculous life of the 29-year old title character (Lively), who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the 20th century she embarks on an epic, but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life.”

“They’re extraordinarily talented and perfect for telling the beautiful and timeless tale of The Age Of Adaline,” the producers said in a statement about the film’s stars. “[Director] Lee Toland Krieger is one of the most stylish young filmmakers working in Hollywood today. He is visually imaginative and possesses a strong narrative sense.”

nice to see her back… and for Haters everyone doesn’t have GREAT!!! An average actor given the chance can polish themselves too if they don’t work how would they polish their skills.

Good for her! What an honour it must be to have the opportunity to work with Ellyn Burstyn.

@SaadGKhan:

Talent is not stagnant. I’ve seen a couple of her indies and she showed promise. She needs more experience with good directors and writers to grow. There are actors have had multiple opportunities to work with both and still manage to put in weak performances, but they still get regular work.

@Amy: I think she was good in The Town and Even in Gossip Girl before it became typical . . . In Savages she did disappoint, she couldn’t carried off the role and background voice was horrible i agree. but i think she can get better given the chance.

@ the 29-year old title character (Lively), who stops aging…
LOL in real life Blakey Flakey is FASTLY ageing, she actually looks 10 yrs older or so than her actual age.

Really? Come on!
Natalie Portman was originally set to star in this film but she dropped out while she was pregnant. They should cast an actress of the same level at least, not this laughable one!

@Sarah:

Interesting, I didn’t know that Natalie was up for this role. How about Rooney Mara instead? Or even Emma Stone if she dyes her hair?

They don’t want to wait for Natalie? There’s no way. I guess Natalie doesn’t feel it’s that good of a role

@SaadGKhan: Totally agree.
Overacting was Blake’s biggest problem in The Savages. She was too big on the screen. Good luck to her.

I don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, but I’ll throw out Natalie Portman’s name and pretend that I do.

Really Amy? I mean Sarah. I mean… I forgot my name! Damn these conversations with myself are confusing.

I can’t think of more names besides Sarah and Amy so I’m going with letters of the alphabet.

I loved Blake in Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and that indie movie Elvis & Annabelle. This sounds like an interesting project.

@Sarah: Natalie declined the role, it was ofered to her after she won the Oscar.

Wasn’t Katherine Heigl slated to do that movie? It sounds familiar. Anyway, Blake is lovely, and I’ve seen worst actors, I’ll definitely see that one.

She should stick to playing crackheads. It would explain why the character is unable to show any hint of emotion in the voice and in the face during a serious scenes and why the character slurs a lot.
