Tony Goldwyn's Sister Liz Opens Up About Films & Fashion
Liz Goldwyn comes from a family of Hollywood royalty and now she is ready for her own moment in the spotlight as a filmmaker and artist.
The 37-year-old younger sister of Scandal actor Tony Goldwyn has previously released a documentary on the burlesque world called Pretty Things and she has also dabbled in the fashion world. Here is what she had to share in a recent feature in The New York Times:
On where she fits in the entertainment world: “I think people sometimes have a hard time placing me because I don’t fit into a box. When they ask what I do at a cocktail party, I either say I’m a Renaissance woman or I’m a high-level madam. Lately I’ve been more comfortable saying I’m an artist, because that can cover a lot of different things.”
On if she slips on identities in addition to outfits: “Absolutely. And the same with the red lipstick. It’s a bit of a mask. Which is funny, because some people think it’s a way of attracting attention. But if they’re looking at your red lips or what you’re wearing, they’re not looking at you.”
Tony on his younger sister: “Lizzie’s trafficking in the social sphere is very connected to her work. She’s fascinated by the dynamics and the hierarchy of fashion and art and – less so – the movie world.”
Next up on Liz‘s slate is a musical adaptation of Pretty Things and two projects she is writing – a teen comedy feature film and a live action/animation feature.
