Kirsten Dunst Clarifies Controversial Gender Roles Statement: 'Obviously I'm a Feminist'

Kirsten Dunst goes out in an all denim dress on Thursday afternoon (July 17) in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old actress recently looked amazing in a feature for Flaunt magazine, where she defended recent comments she made about men being men and women being women in relationship roles.

“I was talking about my mother—obviously I’m a feminist,” Kirsten told Flaunt. “It’s ridiculous that anyone would think other of me.”

Kirsten originally told Harper’s Bazaar: “You need a man to be a man and a woman to be a woman. That’s why relationships work.”

    Her original statement was fine, no need to backtrack! What is wrong with a man being a man? Or a woman being a woman? Feminist stuff is crap. Be proud to be a woman, be strong in who and what you are.

    @Lilyrat:

    I totally agree!

    Can’t stand this whole feminist crap and equality. What’s wrong with being a woman? why do we have to try to be like men.

    So, she likes the c.o.c.k? I know that is unusual for a woman, in Hollywood but, it seems right for her.

    Effy Says:

    @Lilyrat: Agreed. People are overly-sensitive when it comes to things like that being said. This generation is an embarrassment.

    Jen Says:

    You all are missing the point. Feminism just means having the same rights as men. She clearly doesn’t understand the definition and neither do you

    Manu Says:

    Feminism is a good thing if it’s not reversed machism treating men bad. Each gender should treat the other right with compassion and softness. Love, in brief.

    Alex Says:

    @Female: You don’t like having equal rights with men? The same pay for the same work, the same right to promotion etc.? That’s great….(not) I totally agree with @Jen- you have no idea what feminism is, your knowledge is based on some crap information tbh. @Lilyrat: “Be proud to be a woman, be strong in who and what you are.”- that + equal rights would be pretty good definition of feminism…

    Wow, you people should read on a subject before opening your mouths. Since you’re against feminism… get off the computer and go back to the kitchen or go do the laundry b*tches, that’s where you belong.

    Men throw missiles at airplanes and kill 298 people, why would any woman want to be equal to a man when they are so much better?
