Rita Ora Confirms Calvin Harris Blocked Her Teen Choice Awards Performance

Rita Ora has confirmed that she was not able to perform her song “I Will Never Let You Down” at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards because her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris wouldn’t let her.

“For anybody who doesn’t understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song,” the 23-year-old singer said during an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards.”

“It wasn’t a surprise,” Rita added. “I was scheduled to perform and all my friends were texting me and we put a lot of work and effort into the show. Every time I do a show, I rehearse about a month in advance… I could have been told a few weeks earlier. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what? It happens and we move on.”
