Cate Blanchett Rocks a Bright Purple Pantsuit to Announce Her Theater's New Season

Cate Blanchett goes for a bright purple look to announce the Sydney Theater Company’s 2015 season on Thursday (September 4) in Sydney, Australia.

The 45-year-old actress was joined at the event by her husband and artistic director Andrew Upton, actor Geoffrey Rush, and Aussie star Robyn Nevin.

“Cate and I have been talking to him for years,” Andrew told the Sydney Morning Herald about trying to get Geoffrey back to the theater to perform. “Obviously, Cate worked with him on Oleanna and on Elizabeth. They’re very old friends, actually. But Geoffrey was very much based in Melbourne while his children were at school, which I very much understand.”

Geoffrey will star as King Lear in King Lear and Cate will star in The Present at the theater.
