Lana Del Rey Says Darker Hair Had a Big Effect On People's Perception Of Her Music

Lana Del Rey is absolutely stunning on the cover of Maxim magazine’s December/January 2015 issue, out on newsstands December 2!

Here’s what the 29-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag:

On changing her hair color: “When I went darker with my hair, I don’t know why, but people took my music more seriously. There’s a lot to be said for pretending, you know?”

On moving from New York to California: “I had a love affair with New York. I loved all the history that came with it, the early ’60′s, Bob Dylan, and the Beat poetry era. I was kind of looking for this big artist revival, but I never really tapped into anything.”

On changes in her career path: “For me, there really wasn’t reinvention. That is more the other people’s reinterpretation. I feel so much continuity between all my music and all the videos.”
