As 2014 comes to a close, we’re bringing you the top 10 highest grossing films at the box office this year!

It was a hot year for movies – we saw Chris Pratt break out as a totally hot movie star with his film Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as his hit animated flick The Lego Movie. Jennifer Lawrence was another box office success with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, both making the top ten highest grossing films of the year. In fact, Jennifer was recently named the top-grossing actress of the year with her films!

The number 10 movie at the box office this year was Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson‘s Godzilla, which brought in $200,676,069.

The number 9 movie at the box office this year was The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred real life couple Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The movie brought in $202,853,933.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, starring Keri Russell and Andy Serkis, came in at number 8 this year at the box office. It brought in $208,545,589.

X-Men: Days of Future Past, which featured an all-star cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and more, came in at number 7 with $233,921,534 earned.

Angelina Jolie‘s powerful film Maleficent came in at number 6 this year with $241,410,378 brought in.

Transformers: Age of Extinction, starring Mark Wahlberg and breakout star Nicola Peltz came in at number 5 on the list with $245,439,076 earned.

The Lego Movie, starring Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks, came in at number 4 on the list with a whopping $257,760,692.

Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, starring Chris Evans, came in at number 3 on this year’s box office list. It brought in $259,766,572.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, starring powerhouse trio Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson, came in at number two with a huge $306,656,000 – and it’s still playing in theaters!

Chris Pratt‘s mega movie Guardians of the Galaxy finished first at the box office with $332,749,244.
