'American Sniper' Easily Tops Weekend Box Office Again, While 'The Boy Next Door' Has Solid Opening
American Sniper has won the weekend box office once again with a whopping $64.4 million gross!
According to THR, the Clint Eastwood-directed flick starring Bradley Cooper is quickly becoming the No. 2 war film of all time at the North American box office, not accounting for inflation, with a domestic total of $200.1 million.
Coming at No. 2 was The Boy Next Door, starring Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman, which earned a solid $15 million in its first weekend.
Third place went to Paddington, starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Bonneville, which grossed an additional $12.4 million for a $40.1 million total.
Rounding out the top five were Kevin Hart‘s new comedy The Wedding Ringer and Liam Neeson‘s Taken 3, which brought in $11.6 million and $7.6 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow‘s new comedy Mordecai fell below expectations, only making $4.1 million.
Jennifer Aniston new film Cake opened in 482 theaters, earning an estimated $1 million for a screen average of $2,074.
