Zayn Malik Could Still Be in One Direction in a Parallel Universe, Says Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking, the genius physicist and cosmologist who you may remember as the subject of Eddie Redmayne‘s Oscar winning The Theory of Everything, is giving One Direction fans hope that Zayn Malik could be still part of the band!

While giving a lecture at the Sydney Opera House (via holographic projection), the 73-year-old scientist was asked, “What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?”

“Finally, a question about something important,” he answered with a joke. “My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics, because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes. It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe,” Stephen answered. “And in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction.”

“This girl may like to know that in another possible universe,” the brilliant scientist added, “she and Zayn are happily married.”
