Now, THIS is a bit of the old Hollywood Glamour–that most young stars neither want to pull-off, or have the ability to do so. Thank you, Jennifer Lawrence!

  • Ditzzzy

Something’s off about her and the way her career started. She was suddenly overexposed in minutes. Very fishy.

  • MIT SCIENCE EXPLORATION LABS

How are we to believe this is even a recent interview with this retired actress given all of the refurbished articles we’ve been given over at least the past year regarding her?

  • person

I think she has a fashion line making dresses exclusively for her- I mean specifically for her- so each dress she wears is designed from scratch and made for her.

  • FerCat

If she ever gets out of that non-disclosure agreement maybe then. She’s definitely not getting paid anywhere near the money they says she gets or she wouldn’t be complaining so much. She can’t work for studios like Universal, Disney and WB.

Jennifer’s dress is eloquent and she makes a dark day seem bright.

  • Ditzzzy

She’s getting paid less? why can’t she work for other studios?

  • Justin Aniston

I give you one name: Harvey Weinstein.

  • FerCat

She’s locked in to whatever contract she signed. She can only work for Fox, Sony/Columbia and LionsGate. She’s akin to an inhouse talent, studios handle the brand marketing part and she does what she’s told. Since she got noticed she has done only studio backed blockbusters and prestige projects. No small independents that freer artist usually go to to branch out.

Chastain already hinted about this pay discrepancy. What is released to the public is merely part of the marketing ploy. And no one can admit to the ploy they signed up for.

  • Ditzzzy

So the women are lying about their pay? If they are then why do they complain about it? Are there any good, well intentioned actress out there?

  • Ditzzzy

You could be right. If an actress doesn’t have him on their side do they make it anyway?

  • Justin Aniston

HM, probably. But Harvey Weinstein has HUGE influence on Hollywood. But with Harvey by your side, anyone can become an it girl, and not just a cameo girl.

  • Ditzzzy

what does hm stand for? They just make them more appealing than they really are and can make anyone a star?

  • FerCat

Not all. E.Stone and Lawrence are exceptions became much of their fame is pre-packaged. They chose job security. The rest slug it out like everyone else. The Studios hit up on a good strategy and they don’t have to deal with contract renegotiation on every franchise sequel. This maybe the future.

‘Well intentioned’? Well there is Seyfried. The only one who ever said to have been overpaid for a movie. Does a lot charity work that don’t get hyped about. Has a big dog and actually picks up after it.

Some talents use rescue pets as part of the ploy. Take E.Stones rescues for example, as soon as the TASM project ended you never see them anymore.

  • FerCat

If anything, the pay gap maybe even worse.

  • brutallyhonest

    GODDESS

  • Ditzzzy

what would the benefit from that then if they get paid less. Hollyweird….

  • Ditzzzy

I think it’s better to be free to work on whatever you like instead of being locked by some studios. what did you mean by this may be the future?

  • FerCat

Basically pluck a potential talent from obscurity, build them up with accolades and awards then put them in your blockbusters and you don’t have to pay them tens of millions. At the same time they can’t say no. Just read JLaw’s recent whinings and you get the picture.

J.Law and E.Stone were mediocre TV talents until they signed up.

  • Ditzzzy

But they obviously must make a lot of money, even if they get paid less. They must chose them for a reason, either they think they have talent or those girls are willing to do anything.

  • FerCat

They do get paid well comparatively speaking, but they can’t renegotiate as high as others could and is always available. But yes, they have something that the studio can work with, certain features that the public could like, pretty but not too pretty. Marginally talented that could be given a pass. But not someone too exceptional that she could choose to strike out on her own.

  • Ditzzzy

You think studios look for a certain type of feature? so they basically pick people who have a little something but are still kinda ordinary? do they see people who strike out on their own as a threat? They probably need someone to control and make them believe they have a lot of power.

  • FerCat

Yes, exactly. No one that looks too much like a model.

Audience like actors that they can identify with either by looks and/or personality. E. Stone fit that category but they over tweaked her. Made her too pretty. Yes, a bit of surgery is involved. She also has a darker side hidden behind the goofiness.

The true process is for a relatively unknown actor landing a certain role through heavy auditions and wows the audience and gets catapulted. Studio process is to place their chosen actor on a mid-level project, hype the hell out of it and basically do the catapulting themselves. Momentum does the rest.

  • Ditzzzy

And some models are even weird looking too. they sometimes looks like trans which is weird. like half half. There seems to be a lot of manipulation and lies all around. Very little truly interesting actors and actresses out there, by that I mean talented ones. E stone kinda looks fake both physically and mentally, what kind of darker side ?

  • FerCat
  • Ditzzzy

Do you think they do that process with most actors or just the ones they want to sell as products?

  • Ditzzzy

Very interesting observation. If it is true then it’s very very sad. People with strong addictions cope with these types of problems their whole lives. And they can’t hide the truth for too long. They get caught up into a web of lies and their problems take over and become more prominent. It can only lead to a dead end if it’s not treated. What goes on underneath is always a different story than what is presented….

  • Justin Aniston

    Haha, just “hmmm” thinking.

I think absolutely Jennifer Lawrence is gorgeous and funny, but yes; Harvey can make anyone he like to become a star. Gretchen Mol was allegedly discovered by Harvey, and she wanted to cut it off, and look where she is now? Not such a big star anymore, so yes he can make or break people in Hollywood, for sure!

  • Ditzzzy

Too bad someone can make or break someone. people should be free to have their own paths. Hope the ones that were “broken” can find another way to keep doing what they want to do. The problem is someone being overrated. when they have obvious talent it’s ok, but when their fame surpasses what they actually offer, it shows and it’s not pretty. anyway, it can work for a while but not for long. The power that some people give themselves can be a little much. There must be some reason why they want to go all the way with that hunger.
