Miss Philippines Writes Touching Message to Miss Colombia

Miss Philippines Writes Touching Message to Miss Colombia

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the rightful winner of Miss Universe, has written a message to say kind words to Miss Colombia and tell the world to stop fighting over the controversy with this year’s pageant.

“Wow. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for this. It was quite a journey getting here with 3 attempts at winning Miss Philippines. Now, I finally got the best Christmas gift ever – and not just for me, for my country,” the 26-year-old Filipino beauty wrote on Facebook.

“I’d like to say thank you to everyone who believed in my potential and those who supported me from the beginning. To everyone who voted for me, especially to my fellow countrymen, thank you,” Pia continued.

“To Ariadna, you are an amazing woman and we are now bonded together forever by a unique experience. In the last 3 weeks we were together, I saw how strong and beautiful you are inside and out. You represented your country with honor and I know how proud everyone must be of you. Fate has a plan for you, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead,” Pia said.

“And to all the fans who are still fighting about this… Please let’s all stop now,” she added. “The Miss Universe Organization is about uniting empowered women from all over the world. Arguing and sending hateful messages to each other defeats the whole purpose. You believe in the message of Miss Universe and so do I. Again, thank you for the love. I’m excited to begin my duties as Miss Universe and I wish everyone, all the contestants and all the supporters a great holiday with their loved ones. Happy Holidays and let’s look forward to a great start to the new year!”

The Filipino fans are ruining Miss Philippine’s image. It will be hard to respect her knowing that filipinos are the biggest racist, asshole, idiots on the internet.

A well deserved WIN for Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach to become Miss Universe 2015.

  • bimmer4life

Says the clown who himself is a Filipino! Aren’t you a bit too harsh in making such a sweeping generalization to denigrate your own kind?

What you seemingly are reminds me of the Makapilis back in the days of WW2. If I were to use your logic, those Makapili traitors are Kapampangans and therefore, all Kapampangans are traitors! However, we all know that’s NOT true and to make such generalization is utterly idiotic!

What a class act, especially since behind the scenes I heard that Miss Colombia was a nightmare.

Who ever hired Steve Harvey needs to be FIRED !!! He was totally unqualified to be host and sounded lecherous when discussing the ladies in the swimsuit competition.
The entire MUO team did NOT know how to handle the situation, Philippines did not receive any direction as to what to do after being told she won.
What we didn’t see in this clip that I saw in the news was a crazy lady in the front signaling Paulina Vega to take off the crown off of Colombia and place it on Philippines.
Also, not in the clip was the girls rallied around Colombia Not Philippines after the mis-crowning because they felt that an injustice had been done to her and Philippines was cheating out of this moment.
The MUO team should be FIRED and Steve Harvey should be SUED,,in the tape,, he did say that he would take TOTAL RESPONSIBILITY
There were 2 Hosts that year but Roselyn Sanchez was relegated to the backstage the entire telecast.
Never has there been one host standing there,, who decided that , should be Fired !!
The mistake would not have been made if the other host was also looking at the card.
This is a FIASCO !!!! Heads need to roll.
The computer process for tv audience judging was so FLAWED. It kept crashing and it was easy to hack into it so the results can be skewed. I was never able to vote and my computer said that the website was not available.
Who thought of this ? That person needs to be fired as well.
Only 4 live Judges , all American ??
The person at the Top of the MUO needs to resign of r get fired for such a LOUSY JOB

  • SquidBillie

Stop taking it so seriously and get a life. They’re over it, and you need to get over it too. You sound like an idiot, too. Sanchez was backstage to do the interviews, which they always have every year. They can choose whoever they want as judges, just because you’re “latino.”

  • latinoguy

    Colombia was extremely offended.
If Steve Harvey ever hosts the MU pageant, expect all the Latino countries to boycott the event.

Who’s ruining ? you’re making fabrication. Fans reacted after these other losers candidates bashing her. She was loved, the more love she gets after winning. Before the pageant began , reporters , columnist already had their favorite, and that is Ms Philippines. Take Note!!

  • marife

For me she is really the winner and is shocked when Columbia is announced. I think Miss Philippines gave the most intelligent and sincere answer in both the Top 5 and Top 3 Question and Answer round. I am sad for what happened to Miss Columbia but I think their are better plans for her and that is not being Miss Universe. I hope Miss Philippines can be a good Miss Universe in helping others and changing the way people think about Beauty Queens.

    .
More than having the title, the crown, the sash, the flowers…. the true test of being worthy of being called Ms. Universe is how you carry yourself BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the contest. After seeing some snippets, news or videos, and reading interviews & several posts on the internet by Ms. Philippines, Ms. Colombia, Ms. Germany, Ms. USA, Ms. Australia and others…. we could really see who among them who are very consistent in showing GRACE, POISE, HUMILITY, CONFIDENCE (definitely not arrogance), INTELLIGENCE, DEDICATION, RESPONSIBILITY, ADVOCACY & GRATEFULNESS.

Beauty fades when your true color shows during unexpected moments. I am proud to be a Filipino and very proud that Ms. PIA is a Filipino who has shown to the world what a real Ms. Universe really means and not just about the title. I am glad that despite Ms.Germany’s rude behavior & bad manners as well as Ms. Colombia’s insistence in posting her supposed “winning” moment which inadvertently igniting unsportsmanship reaction by her countrymen, Ms.Philippines remains calm and exudes what is a true beauty with a heart.

Congratulations Ms PIA for winning MS. UNIVERSE 2015 in a truest sense of the word. You are indeed a beauty inside & out.

Let me post a good article about what a former beauty titlist’s opinion regarding the different issues that happened at Ms. Universe 2015 pageant…. I think she made sense. She made an objective opinion.

EXCLUSIVE: Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler on Miss Colombia Still Calling Herself Miss Universe: That’s Not Appropriate

    Alex Ungerman

    ETonline

    24 December 2015

Shanna Moakler does not think Ariadna Gutierrez should be calling herself Miss Universe.

The former Miss USA spoke exclusively to ET about Miss Colombia’s recent posts on social media, where she continued to refer to herself as Miss Universe. While Moakler says, “I don’t think that’s really appropriate,” she nevertheless feels bad for Gutierrez’s predicament.

“I can’t even begin to imagine the array of emotions she has, but there is only one winner in pageants,” Moakler insists. “I was first runner-up, and there is something to be said about losing gracefully.”

Still, the 40-year-old model admits, “She did have a disheartening experience.”

As for host Steve Harvey’s crowning error, Moakler says that while “it has happened in pageantry on the state level,” it is “shocking” to see it occur on the Miss Universe stage.

She adds that while “human error happens, it is sad that one girl is on an emotional rollercoaster, and the other was sort of robbed of her crowning moment.”

The fact that the final two countries in play were Colombia and the Philippines, Moakler says, only exacerbated the fallout from the mistake.

“Colombia, Philippines, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Mexico, these are all powerhouse countries in pageants, and have very aggressive fans, this is like soccer to many in these countries,” she tells ET.

As for Donald Trump’s idea for a shared crown, Moakler disagrees, noting that would be unfair to Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.

“There should not be co-winners,” she says. “There was a tabulation by a proper firm, and judges ballots cast, and even though the host messed up, that is not the winner’s fault.”

A source close to production told ET that 58-year-old Harvey will likely be returning to Miss Universe on a multi-year deal. Regardless of the mix-up, Moakler doesn’t think that’s the best idea.

“He just isn’t what I look for, or what the majority of pageant fans look for in a pageant host,” she argues. “He is great with ad-libs, and is a fantastic comedian, but…I’d like to see someone who has some understanding of the world of pageantry and what is at stake.”

“It’s not just about beautiful women in bikinis,” she stresses. “These women have worked for years, and truly make a difference in their chosen platforms. I’d like to see someone who understands and honors that.”

    New update:

Ms. Germany is claiming now that her post-Ms. Universe interview was manipulated by the media.

She is really UNBELIEVABLE…. one lie after another…….. when will she ever tell something true…

She is really a LIAR… How did Germany allow this woman to represent them??? She is disgusting human being.

No trace of a Ms. Universe trait in her body at all.

Maybe because she realizes that so many people are bashing her due to her earlier interview expressing her disappointment about Ms. Philippines winning the Ms. Universe, she is is now trying to deflect or make excuses about it.

Now, to refresh her memory, here’s what she said about Ms. Philippines and she simply cannot deny this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlqjUmibYXQ

“I really couldn’t believe it….I was so upset… I was very happy for Colombia actually she really deserved it and I’m really not happy with the result and neither are the other girls….None of us [the other contestants] voted for the Philippines… I’m really not happy with the result.”

What does Ms. Germany really think about the people who have seen the video above. She said it loud and clear that she’s upset about the result. That she’s not happy. That no one among the candidates voted for Ms. Philippines. How could she deny that and blame the media which she claimed manipulated this interview. I didn’t know she is this ST*PID!!!

She is very tactless, disrespectful & insensitive.

She should learn to think first before making a statement.

3 attempts at winning Miss Philippines ??? finally some PAID FOR IT, some1 had the bucks

How hard is it to read a card? They’ve been doing this for over half a century…. That’s your one job as hot, to read the card.

Miss Phillippines is freaking gorgeous. That was really humiliating to watch–Miss Colombia so happy and then the embarrassment of standing there while the crown was taken off her. They probably shouldn’t have done that on live tv. If Steve comes back, I bet he’ll make some joke about it when he’s reading the final card–like double checking and triple checking the card OR showing the card to the tv monitor just to show you that it’s the actual winner.

Your pea-sized brain clearly shows how imbecile your thoughts are. Winning Miss Philippines is so competitive that the chance of winning it is so slim and the preparation is enormously demanding. For one, it’s a test of character to gauge if the girl really has what it takes to represent the country. She may have lost twice and won the title of Miss Philippines only on her third attempt, but for anything it speaks volumes of her character, determination and indefatigable spirit. All you could do is theorizing preposterously about someone may have paid for her to win is baseless, unfounded, and poorly envisioned!
