Linda Perry Calls Out Lady Gaga's Oscar Nomination - Read the Tweets

Linda Perry is putting Lady Gaga on blast for supposedly not writing her Oscar nominated song “Til It Happens to You,” despite getting credit for it with the Academy.

The 50-year-old singer called out Gaga, 29, in a series of tweets.

“I’m stating the truth . I credit Diane for writing this song, it is her experience her pain her words. That’s it kids,” Linda said. “If she gave Gaga writing credit it would ensure the support this song needed and deserved. And Gaga knows her power.”

how low and thirsty for a nomination has gaga been! unbelievable, she is so fake, i’m done with her.

  • Madsxx

    Someone sounds bitter…

  • Arx

Finally someone calls her out on her “song writing”. IMO Writing a few words does not deserve writing credit or an Oscar.

  • Emma

Both Diane Warren and Lady Gaga admitted that the song was almost done when Gaga came on board. The question is if Gaga did enough to deserve an Oscar. I don’t think she did do enough if the song was practically finished when she got involved but it’s up to the Oscars committee to decide.

  • neil

    Someone sounds defensive.

  • plez

First Prince called Gaga out for “buying” the Women of The Year award from Billboard.

Next a lot of the people in the Golden Globes audience laughed at Gaga winning best supporting actress.
Now this. Her taking credit where credit was not due. Either she is a stand up person or she is not. It was for her to take her name of the writing credits before the song was submitted for an Oscar nom.
Wonder what mag or website has the nerve to call out Gaga for being a phony.

    From LA Times interview

Gaga: It was already kind of a finished piece when I
came in to work on it with Diane. We made some changes so it would speak
to more people than just rape survivors. The song kind of became a
conversation between two women who’d been sexually abused. Finding our
common connection through this song and her sharing that with me — Diane
doesn’t co-write with anybody, ever — it meant a lot to me; it was
really a gift. She was saying, ‘I want to share this with you; this is
ours.’ And that’s what we’re saying to people: We want to share our pain
    with other people.

Linda looks like a jealous bitch

  • Marko Horvatic

Gaga thinks she is entitled to everything!!! She probably really believes she wrote that song!

  • Swagsaad

Both Diane Warren and Lady Gaga admitted that the song was Writen by Gaga& Diane together and produced by Gaga alone , why linda looks like a jealous bitch is it becouse her song with miley didn’t nominated for oscar ???

  • Swagsaad

Its clearly becouse Linda song with miley didn’t nominated for oscar ??? thatsw why she seem mad and jealous

  • Gina

    Preach, Linda!

  • neil

    Someone sounds bitter? Not really..

  • callen1592

songs that are nominated for oscars credit not only the writer(s) but also the recording artists.

  • Lee

Lame song prob won’t win anyway so wtf cares?

  • Baseliner

no they don’t. just because you sing the song does not mean you get an award.

  • The Absolute Truth

Twitters 144 character limit isn’t going to hold her back.

  • Wendy

I actually read that most of the votes for her performance were from people who hadn’t even seen AHS, so that says a lot about her maybe “buying” her Globe as well. She REALLY wants to be an EGOT winner so she’ll do whatever it takes apparently.

  • Jedaqia

First of all, she deserved the Golden Globe award. If you watched AHS, you would know. Secondly, she never took credit for the song, the credit was given to her & she sang it well.

  • Wendy

I do watch AHS, thank you, and if anyone on that show deserved a GG nom it was Sarah Paulson. Gaga was good, but not as good as Sarah.

  • tarc_d

Perry isn’t doing herself a favor here. There is no way to know or prove that, so it will ALWAYS look like sour grapes. Plus, the song is dreadful and depressing and the Oscars are just a political event anyway. Gaga’s written plenty of worthy songs and her album with Tony Bennett is amazing, so it’s not like it would be undeserved in any event.

  • Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

    Wouldn’t you?

  • Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

    read interview above.

  • Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

    Linda could be nominated.

  • K.

Bottom line, this all came from 1 person’s jealous tweet? It’s not proof of anything, and Perry has PUBLICLY APOLOGIZED to Gaga and Warren, and admitted she was not present during their collaboration and cannot speak to it. I liked Perry’s song, but it didn’t do well or get nominated, and it all looks like sour grapes. I think she hurt Warren w/her random comments more. If Gaga’s hair blows in the wind, it TRENDS, and everyone has an opinion on something from nothing.

  • K.

She’s a stand up person with amazingly versatile talent. Trash Talk via Tweets are now taken like some kind of fact, then splintered into millions of online random opinions. It’s really a form of mass insanity when you think about it. People compete with her and release, unprovable meaningless sh-t, that’s all. Look at her LIVE Performances–that’s the PROOF of who she is.

  • OfInLe

Nope. I wouldn’t try to denigrate others’ achievements simply because my own weren’t winning awards.

  • OfInLe

    How so?

  • OfInLe

Exactly. Who decides who deserves the Oscar? The Oscar committee and the voters. It’s that simple.

  • plez

“the credit was given to her”

    This is a naive sentence.

  • Mapгapитa Бaбoвниковa

but if you know that others were nominated via dirty games? would you keep quiet without even trying to let the world know the truth just because some will call you jealous?
