Michael B. Jordan to Star in 'Thomas Crown Affair' Remake!

Michael B. Jordan is set to star in the remake of the 1968 classic movie The Thomas Crown Affair, THR reports.

The film originally starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, and was then remade again back in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. Both movies had very different endings, as the former ended with both going their separate ways, while the latter had a fairy tale ending.

Michael is one of the most in-demand young actors at the moment, having starred in the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station and Creed.

So we are fresh out of new ideas, is what we saying?

  • Media Wh@re MANiston

Bad idea. He doesn’t have the sex appeal to play Thomas Crown. Idris Elba would be a better choice.

  • GroundControl500

Yes, Idris would be lovely and sexy and mysterious. But why would he want a film that’s a second remake following an exellent first remake.

  • Ariana

LOL are they replacing the white lead with a black one? Way to go PC liberal Hollywood! Not! MBJ is at best an avg actor who is also really rude and unprofessional!

  • jane

i didn’t think the first had them going separate ways – it was left kinda open-ended, no??

  • Cruizin1960

And yet again we see lazy filmmakers taking an old idea and remaking it in order to install a black actor and/or cast. If you want recognition for your work…BE ORIGINAL. These sorts of remakes are generally a huge let down — Steel Magnolias? Annie? About Last Night? No thanks, I will save my money and wait for something original to come along.

Rude and unprofessional? I’ve only heard good things about him professionally…explain.

  • Ariana

He threw his co-stars and the director of Fantastic 4 under the bus and blamed them when it flopped. He also said that he should be nominated for an Oscar because Creed was not about Rocky. WTF kind of statement is that? He is unprofessional to me.

  • Gina

Honey, stupid remakes are being made even with white actors as the lead.

  • Cruizin1960

True, but we are seeing them used as vehicles for black actors who deserve better.

  • Dee

From what I hear, he was the only good part of F4, and as for him saying he should be nominated, I think I would have heard that ( cuz I stalk him…) but if you say he said that, then wut evs. I still think hes a good actor. Also, is the character being white or black important too the role? Race can sometimes play a part in a character ( like if your playing the leader of an african nation, most likely you’d be black). Him being black isnt my prob, I think hes too young for the character…

  • Gina

Hardly. I doubt the sole purpose of the remake was so Michael could get a job. Gimme a break. Remakes are gonna happen regardless.
