John Goodman Reveals His Simple Weight Loss Secrets
John Goodman has been showing off his massive weight loss for a while now, but with his new film 10 Cloverfield Lane opening this weekend, he is opening up about it again.
The 63-year-old actor dropped over 100 pounds a year and a half ago and he opened up on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday (March 8) about his weight loss secrets.
“I decided to stop stuffing food into my mouth every five minutes,” John said. “Turns out I was just eating all the time. Anytime I had my hands open or free, I shoved something in my mouth. It’s all crap.”
John says he stuck to smaller meal portions and an exercise plan to get the weight off. While at home, he uses an elliptical and he often does stomach crunches. He also gave up drinking eight years ago.
“It’s been a year and half, I did it slowly,” he said. “I used to go on these diets, take three months and lose about 60-70 pounds, feel great, and reward myself with crapola. Twinkies look good.”
“I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle,” John added. “You look in the mirror everyday and go, ‘I gotta deal with this the rest of the day, I gotta deal with this schmuck?’”
