'The Jungle Book' Makes Huge U.S. Debut at $103.6M

The Jungle Book took the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend with an incredible $103.6 million opening, bringing its global total to $291 million!

According to THR, Disney’s adaptation of the classic tale has now become the No. 2 opening of all time for the month of April.

Meanwhile, Ice Cube‘s Barbershop 3: The Next Cut came in at No. 2 grossing $20.2 million.

Coming in third was Melissa McCarthy‘s comedy The Boss, which fell 57 percent in its second weekend to $10.2 million and became the biggest drop for one of her comedies.

Rounding out the top five were Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zootopia, which grossed $9 million and $8.2 million, respectively.
