Melania Trump Releases Statement After Plagiarism Accusations
A statement was released to Melania Trump‘s Twitter account after she has been accused of plagiarizing Michelle Obama‘s 2008 DNC speech at the Republican National Convention on Monday (July 18) in Cleveland, Ohio.
“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania‘s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania‘s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success,” the statement read.
Twitter did not take too kindly to this statement, with responses including, “Your response to being accused of plagiarism is a quote from someone else? Are you trying to rip a hole in time?” and “you said you wrote it. Now you say you had a team? You’ve outdone your husband here.”
It’s also being noted on Twitter that Melania originally said she wrote it, yet the statement claims she wrote it with a team. Watch below.
