James Van Der Beek Gets 'Lit' at TCA Summer Press Tour

James Van Der Beek was jumping for at the TCA Summer Press Tour!

The 40-year-old actor took flight on the red carpet at the event for his Viceland series What Would Diplo Do? on Friday (July 28) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

During the panel, James spilled on Diplo‘s reaction to the satirical show, which was loosely based on his life.

“The only way to do a show like this is only if someone is completely game,” James explained, adding that Diplo even made suggestions to make the character look completely stupid.

He added, “We had to argue that we had to make this character somewhat likable…He is so confident in his ability that he’s allergic to taking himself so seriously.”

As for what Diplo thought of the finished series?

“It’s lit,” he told director Brandon Dermer.
