President Trump Condemns White Supremacists & Other Hate Groups in White House Press Conference

President Donald Trump delivered a statement during a press conference held at the White House on Monday afternoon (August 14) to condemn the violence in Charlottesville over the weekend.

The president was criticized when he didn’t condemn the white supremacists and other hate groups who incited violence, which resulted in the death of a female counter-protestor and two police officers.

“Racism is evil,” Trump said om his new statement. “And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-nazis, white supremacists and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

Trump also said that “justice will be delivered” and paid tribute to Heather Heyer and the two Virginia state troopers who died.

“In times such as these, America has always shown its true character. Responding to hate with love, division with unity and violence with an unwavering resolve for justice,” he said.
