The New York Attorney General's Office Is Suing The Weinstein Company

The New York Attorney General’s office has filed a civil rights lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein‘s company and its founders.

In the 38-page complaint filed against The Weinstein Company are descriptions of various abuses carried out by the former co-founder and co-CEO.

The suit details a company culture that regularly violated state human rights laws and business regulations, according to Variety.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman began an investigation of the company, including an “exhaustive review of company records and emails,” following the many reports of sexual misconduct that came out against Harvey since the first explosive reports by The New York Times and the New Yorker.

The company is accused of violating gender discrimination laws.
