The Avatar actress made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (March 23).

During her appearance, Sigourney discussed her portrayal of scientist Dian Fossey in Gorillas In The Mist. The two also discuss Ellen‘s newly launched foundation, The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund, and their initiative to build a center in Rwanda for education and further scientific research, ensuring the mountain gorilla’s survival in the wilderness.

Plus, Sigourney chatted about filming the upcoming four Avatar sequels two at a time and reveals she’s been freediving training since last July for the underwater scenes, learning to hold her breath for long periods of time.
