Luke S. Reveals the Real Reason He Quit 'The Bachelorette'

Luke Short eliminated himself from last night’s episode of The Bachelorette and everyone presumed it was because of the drama with Luke Parker.

However, the 29-year-old political consultant went on Good Morning America on Wednesday (June 12) to explain that is not the reason.

“A lot of people seem to think that it stems from the whole Luke P. situation, which it does — that was a catalyst,” Luke said. “I think for me, that night was long, it was hard and I tried my best to sort of communicate with Hannah and figure out where her head was at. To me, being there, I felt like she didn’t trust me.”

“That was enough for me to leave because trust is the basis of every relationship,” Luke added. “Without trust you can’t have a relationship. When I felt like I had lost that, that was when I felt like I needed to leave.”

If you’re unaware, during the rugby group date a couple weeks ago, Luke P. tackled Luke S. to the ground and kneed him in the head, for no apparent reason. Luke P. also told Hannah that Luke S. was only on the show to promote his tequila company, which isn’t even in existence yet. They got into several arguments and Luke S. wasn’t able to get Hannah to trust his answers, so he left.
