Nipsey Hussle has won his first Grammy, at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

The late rapper won Best Rap Performance for “Racks in the Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy.

Nipsey‘s grandmother and his brother accepted the award on his behalf at the event on Sunday (January 26) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“I wanted to thank all of you for showing all the love that I have felt for him all of his life and will always live in my heart, so: thank you. Thank you,” his grandmother said.

Nipsey is also nominated for Best Rap Song for “Racks in the Middle” and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Higher” with DJ Khaled and John Legend.

Nipsey‘s longtime love Lauren London posted a photo of him with Kobe Bryant in her Instagram Stories, writing, “God Help Us.”

Nipsey Hussle tragically passed away last March at age 33 after he was shot outside of his Marathon Clothing Company store in Los Angeles.
