Paris Plans to Reopen The Eiffel Tower This Month

The Eiffel Tower is really close to opening back up following France’s lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

New guidelines for visitors were posted on the landmark’s official website, and state that “all visitors above the age of 11 required to wear face masks, and take the stairs initially as opposed to the elevators.”

Additional guidelines for the stairs were also issued, saying that “to ensure that ascending and descending visitors do not meet in the stairs, the ascent will take place from the East pillar and descent by the West pillar.”

Public areas will be cleaned daily and disinfected, and “significant signage and ground markings” installed to implement social distancing.

Paris is currently in phase two of reopening, just after cafes and restaurants were allowed to open a few weeks ago.

More landmarks, such as museums and tourist attractions around the city are also in various stages of reopening with precautions in place.

The Palace of Versailles reopened its museums and gardens on June 6, however, The Louvre will open in July, after Bastille Day.

Just recently, Disney theme parks around the world have also started to re-open.
