Gerard Butler Returns to Social Media After 'Summer Break'

Gerard Butler is back on social media!

After taking a hiatus from posting over the past several months, the 50-year-old actor took to Twitter on Saturday (September 5) to share a message in honor of International Day of Charity.

“Hi everyone! As you may have noticed, I’ve taken a bit of a ‘summer break’ from social media. I don’t need to tell you that these are some crazy times we’re living in, and it’s more important than ever to look out for each other. As it’s #InternationalDayOfCharity today, what cause,” Gerard started his series of tweets.

He continued, “So many children around the world rely on their school for daily meals, and even during COVID-19, Mary’s Meals has made it their mission to link food to education and help these students get fed. It’s so much more than just meals!”

“In this uncertain time, I encourage you to do some digging, and if not Mary’s Meals, use this day to find a cause that matters to you,” Gerard concluded. “Join me in finding a way to give back, whether it’s with your time, your words, or a small donation. I think it will bring you some peace. Sending love your way”

Gerard‘s social media return comes several weeks after it was reported that he and longtime girlfriend Morgan Brown had split up.
