'Police Academy' Actress Marion Ramsey Has Sadly Passed Away at 73

Marion Ramsey, who was best known for playing Officer Laverne Hooks in the Police Academy series, has sadly passed away at the age of 73.

Ramsey died at her home in Los Angeles on Thursday (January 7), her management team confirmed to Deadline.

A cause of death has not yet been determined, but it was reported that she was “ill in recent days.”

Marion appeared in all six Police Academy series and she even reprised her role from the films in an episode of the animated series Robot Chicken. In addition to her work in the movie series, she achieved success in the New York theater world with her work in the Broadway show Eubie back in 1978.
