Katy Perry: Dr. Luke is Songwriter of the Year!
Katy Perry and super producer Dr. Luke are honored at the 2010 ASCAP Pop Music Awards held at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel on Wednesday (April 21).
Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald was named songwriter of the year for penning five of the most-performed songs of the past year: Britney Spears‘ “Circus,” Katy Perry‘s “Hot N Cold,” Kelly Clarkson‘s “My Life Would Suck Without You,” Miley Cyrus‘ “Party In the USA,” and Flo Rida‘s “Right Round.” All hail!
Katy picked up awards for her two hit songs “Hot N Cold” and “Waking Up In Vegas.” Jason Mraz‘s “I’m Yours” was named song of the year (it holds the record for the most weeks spent on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart: 76 and counting).
After the ceremony, Katy, Dr. Luke, Kid Rock, and Entourage‘s Adrian Grenier celebrated at h.wood’s Tea Room.
FYI: Katy wore a gorgeous Manish Arora dress and Jimmy Choo “Zap” LED light-up platform sandals. “My shoes light up tonight. :)” Katy tweeted. “I feel like a kid again w/ them LA gears!” Um, how HOT are those shoes??? KILLER.
UPDATE: Earlier in the day, Katy was shopping with a mystery male. She wore a cute denim dress from the H&M Fashion Against Aids collection, which launches May 20. 25% of the sales go to organizations that promote HIV/Aids awareness programs!
