Jake Gyllenhaal: Murakami Man

Jake Gyllenhaal gets lunch to-go from Murakami on Monday (May 9) in Los Angeles.

Director Baz Luhrmann recently revealed that Jake, 30, was once on the list of contenders to play Christian in Moulin Rouge!

“He’s a wonderful actor with a great voice, a tremendous voice. Jake should do a musical,” Baz told MTV News.

Though the starring role went to Ewan McGregor, Baz also shared that Jake‘s pal, and Brokeback Mountain co-star, the late Heath Ledger, was also up for the part.
