'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' Tops Box Office

James Franco and Freida Pinto‘s latest film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, took the top spot at the box office this weekend, bringing in an estimated $77.4 million worldwide and an estimated $54 million domestically.

Second place went to The Smurfs 3-D, with $21 million in ticket sales, followed by Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford‘s Cowboys & Aliens, which brought in $15.8 million, Variety reports.

Fourth place went to Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman‘s The Change-Up, with $13.5 million.
