Maggie Gyllenhaal Compares Batman & Bruce Wayne's Plight to Pussy Riot

Maggie Gyllenhaal is chic and sophisticated while making an appearance at the SiriusXM Studios on Tuesday (July 29) in New York City.

That same day, the 36-year-old actress switched into a black dress to promote her new miniseries The Honorable Woman on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Maggie also made time to stop by HuffPost Live where she was asked about the never-ending fascination with the Batman franchise, which she became a part of in The Dark Knight.

“Batman is not a magical superhero, he’s a human who’s created a way for himself to be able to do these superhuman things,” Maggie expressed. “Like Pussy Riot, for example. We look at Pussy Riot and we just go, ‘My God, you’re so brave. You’re doing what we all wish we could do. You’re standing up against something that you think is really wrong, and you’re risking everything,’ and that’s kind of what Bruce Wayne is doing, right?”
