Tony Goldwyn Admits He Was Embarrassed Doing a Phone Sex Scene For 'Scandal'

Tony Goldwyn is handsome in a suit while making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing earlier today (December 1)!

The 54-year-old actor chatted about the awkwardness of shooting a phone sex scene on his hit show Scandal and gave his opinion on co-star Kerry Washington‘s comment on the sex scenes in the show.

“It really took me by surprise. Cause we read it in the table read and as you know on Scandal we never get the scripts until we sit down, usually the day before shooting, and read them out loud together. So I’m reading this script totally blind and it was really hot and pretty out there I could not believe they aired that on ABC and I went bright red during the table read. Doing phone sex was actually harder,” Tony shared.

He added, “In a regular sex scene it’s all so weird and ridiculous and you have this other person you’re with and you can kind of. And for me it was just me alone having phone actually having phone sex. And just the crew watching me. One of our assistant camera people, this wonderful woman Emily who does the focus, she’s sitting right next to me operating the focus on the camera kind of looking at me and I was thinking Emily, I’m really embarrassed!”
