Lupita Nyong'o Wanted Nothing More Than to 'Make Believe for a Living'

Lupita Nyong’o takes the stage to speak at the 2014 Massachusetts Conference for Women at Boston Convention & Exhibition Center on Thursday afternoon (December 4) in Boston, MA.

The 31-year-old actress was joined at the big event by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“What I wanted more than anything was to make believe for a living,” Lupita said during her speech according to People magazine. “When I watched The Color Purple and watched Oprah and Whoopi Goldberg, a seed was planted in my heart to becoming an actor, but I dared not water it in public.”
